A England Perceval

Happy Holiday Ladies!

Even if my blog is really on the back burner at the moment, I couldn't resist showing my christmas manicure.
This is A England Perceval, a glowing red shimmer. This is a beautiful, true red with a hint of darkening at the edges to really bring that glow out. The color pops at you from a distance, but not in your face, just elegantly red.

To compare it to other red shimmers I showed, it is not as brown as Illamasqua Viridian and not as bright and orange hinted as China Glace Red Stallion.

(and please excuse my even lesser skills in photography way back then. Hrrm, something has changed for the better at least.. )

It behaves beautifully too, almost opaque in one coat, I used two over usual Lumos base coat, Seche Vite as top coat. Unfortunately it chipped badly within a couple of hours.

I will not put the blame for the chipping on A England without another go at it though, as my nails are in such a bad shape right now, weak and splitting as there were no tomorrow.
I guess it is the Blog God punishing me for not updating and posting regularly :-p

  1. Life changes, and from time to time a blog might not be THE most important thing in our lives :)
But it's nice to see you back with a pretty and festive color - and happy holidays to you too :)

  2. Maria,

You are so right. The last 6 months has been all I could handle and then some. I still love my polish and being forced to choose between collecting them or blogging about them, I decided for the first alternative.

I really hope to be back a little more often next year. Right from the start of my blog, I decided this would be a pleasure blog, not a pressure blog. So no guilty feelings here!
Still, I miss making posts just for the fun of it and I hope I'll be back soon.

    Happy New Year!

  3. I have given your reply a lot of thought, because I'm heading right in the direction of my blog being a pressure rather than a pleasure, not there yet, but it's time to re-think, so thanks for that comment, it describes it very clearly. I don't think many non-bloggers realize how much time each mani takes after it's done, writing, taking photos, editing photos, planning and publishing - and planning ahead.
So it's really important to do it as a labour of love, so to speak LOL

  4. I had a long talk with myself before I embarked on this blog adventure in the first place. After spending many years in this body I know myself to be overly ambitious, always looking for an excuse to put yet another thing on my daily agenda.
So we struck a deal from the beginning - only pleasure, no pressure! It really has worked out great. Now, the blogosphere is the place I run and hide in if I'm feeling stressed out, it's a real comfort zone.

After all: it's only about nail polish anyway :-D

  5. Hmmm, sounds like we are awfully like each other, maybe you are a lost (much younger probably) sister LOL
Actually I made the same deal with myself, but almost forgot it :)

  6. Maria,
I'd like to find a sister, in RL I am an only child. You can be my big sis, but not by much, I'm a '64.
    xx

  7. Fantastic, I'm an only child too, but no longer, yeahhhh :)
Allthough I'm from 53 I from time to time (often) might be "younger" than you are LOL
